Clinton (hypocritically) accuses Obama of plagiarism

It’s funny to watch the Clinton campaign attempt to turn Obama into a plagiarist because he didn’t stop to cite his friend and supporter Governor Deval Patrick during an ad-libbed portion of his stump speech in Wisconsin.  Perhaps Obama should have had Patrick go into the crowd and pass out footnotes beforehand.

Ironically, Hillary Clinton herself has recently made a habit of borrowing words– only she doesn’t borrow from her friends, she borrows from her rivals.  Last week, during Hillary’s non-concession speech in El Paso, Ben Smith at Politico caught her lifting directly from Rudy Giuliani’s campaign:

A veteran Rudy-watcher, though, was surprised to hear a Giuliani echo in Clinton’s speech in El Paso last night.

“I’m tested. I’m ready. Let’s make it happen,” she said.

The slogan for Giuliani’s ill-fated relaunch: “Tested. Ready. Now.”

And last month, during a speech to supporters in Iowa, Marc Ambinder caught Clinton shamelessly lifting directly from Barack Obama’s signature line:

“We are fired up and we are ready to go because we know America is ready for change and the process starts right here in Iowa.”

Looks like Clinton needs to start passing out her own footnotes.
