The kitchen sink

With eight days before the do-or-die March 4 primaries and all other options exhausted, the Clinton campaign finally drops all pretension and throws fuel on the Obama-Muslim smear.  So much for bowing out gracefully:

With a week to go until the Texas and Ohio primaries, stressed Clinton staffers circulated a photo over the weekend of a “dressed” Barack Obama.

The photo, taken in 2006, shows the Democrat frontrunner fitted as a Somali Elder, during his visit to Wajir, a rural area in northeastern Kenya.

The senator was on a five-country tour of Africa.

“Wouldn’t we be seeing this on the cover of every magazine if it were HRC?” questioned one campaign staffer, in an email obtained by the DRUDGE REPORT.

Clinton campaign manager Maggie Williams responds: “If Barack Obama’s campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed.”

Right, there’s no underlying subtext whatsoever behind this totally harmless photo, which is why the staffer who released it thought it should be “on the cover of every magazine.”

Drudge then attempts to wash his hands of the matter with this note, along with photos of Hillary Clinton, George Bush, and Bill Clinton in traditional foreign clothing:

EDITOR’S NOTE: Other leaders have worn local costumes.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Other leaders weren’t battling an active smear campaign suggesting that they were secretly Muslim.

EDITOR’S NOTE, PART 2: Other leaders weren’t black.

I’m just saying.

You love the Spam, don’t you? Did you activate Akismet, or do you like getting all of the spam pingbacks (like the other comments in this post)

In other news, this is all hilarious. Very interesting that this popped up, a week before Hilary Clinton bows out of the race after losing or the March 4th primaries as others call it, after being taken in 2006. And the statement by Hilary’s advisor or whoever that was…pretty “classy” job of trying to spin things.

So that’s what Akismet does. LOL! Thanks for the tip. As you can see, I’m an idiot.
