Lou Dobbs catches himself in mid-racial slur

By Griffin · March 31st, 2008 · 1 Comment

Lou Dobbs attempts to talk about race and gets about one syllable away from ending his career:

For those of you who may be confused, the phrase he was going for was “cotton-pickin’.”  Which connotatively is probably not the best expression to use when discussing African-Americans and our country’s history of race relations.

Lou I don’t know why I listen to you. I guess waiting for you to slip and show your true self. This is a great opportunity for America to get pass race. Yes we need to talk about it. But we need for everyone including you to face what our ancestors has done throughout our history. One minute you say lets talk about it and the next you say we should be proud of our history. You have not walked in any African Americans shoes when they have been discriminated against. So don’t question any polical figure when they finally speak on the issue. Do not be a hipocrite. Obama made one of the greatest race speeches in history. YOU (the media)picked it apart to find fault. Bill Richardson made a great follow up speech in support. YOU (the media) questioned his motives. Secretary Rice finally spoke on race. YOU say it is unfortunate. I ask you Lou Dobbs…Do you really want to have a discussion on race. Today you say the media is for Obama and not Clinton. I dissagree, if Obama was behind in every category as Clinton is, every media outlet would be not asking him to get out of the race, but telling him to get out.
