McCain aide Carly Fiorina rapidly turning into female Al Sharpton

By Griffin · September 16th, 2008 · No Comments

Yesterday, Carly Fiorina– former CEO of Hewlitt-Packard and top McCain campaign aide– accused Tina Fey and Amy Poehler of sexism for their hilarious Saturday Night Live skit roasting Sarah Palin.

“The portrait was very dismissive of the substance of Sarah Palin, and so in that sense, they were defining Hillary Clinton as very substantive, and Sarah Palin as totally superficial,” Fiorina told MSNBC earlier Monday. “I think that continues the line of argument that is disrespectful in the extreme, and yes, I would say, sexist in the sense that just because Sarah Palin has different views than Hillary Clinton does not mean that she lacks substance.”

Well, it’s about time someone finally spoke out against those rampant mysogynists… Tina Fey and… Amy Poehler?  Wait, aren’t they women?  And groundbreaking comediennes at that?  Aren’t they, like, the two funniest women on network television?  Hmm.  So in case you’re confused, it seems that not only does any and all criticism of Sarah Palin qualify as sexist, but it is now possible for women– even women who are breaking ground for other women– to be sexist against themselves.  (Perhaps Fey and Poehler should have read my helpful media guide to sexism and Sarah Palin beforehand.)

Today, Carly Fiorina followed up her accusations of woman-on-woman sexism (Actually, it sounds kind of hot when you put it that way. Wait, is that sexist?) by veering off message in an interview to state that Sarah Palin isn’t qualified to run a company.

Appearing on a KTRS Radio show in St. Louis, Fiorina was asked by the host, “Do you think she has the experience to run a major company like Hewlett Packard?”

“No, I don’t,” Fiorina answered.

Fiorina then went on to accuse herself of sexism.

FOOT FURTHER IN MOUTH UPDATE: Fiorina just now on MSNBC helpfully clarified that not only is Sarah Palin unqualified to run a company, but…

“I don’t think John McCain could run a major corporation.”

Think we’ll be seeing that clip in any Obama campaign ads?
