Over the past week, Nate Silver at 538 has been highlighting Matt Drudge’s effort to make the presidential race seem close with cherry-picked polls. First, it was an outlier from Gallup that showed McCain down 49-47 among likely voters. Then, it was a two-week-old Internet poll that showed McCain down by two among voters willing to click a button. Today, Silver catches Drudge trumpeting the latest poll shocker: McCain down a mere 51%-49% in a Nickelodeon “Kids Vote” poll!
It’s not clear how many of these toddlers are registered to vote or how well Nickelodeon screened participants for party bias, but if this trend continues over the next two weeks, it means John McCain is the next President of the United States. Or the next Principal of High School Musical 4.
