Everyone will be legally allowed to marry someone of the opposite sex. There is no discrimination.

1. "Personal beliefs" are imposed all the time. We have laws against prostitution, drugs, and child pornography. Society imposes religious beliefs and personal beliefs all the time. That's the way society works. If we want to be a community, a community culture must be developed and part of that will be our position on homosexuality. Laws reflect society's beliefs that's it. There is no difference between a personal belief and a societal value. This is not a neutral issue where you can personally hold a belief as a Christian and where you can allow others to make their own choices. This is a vote for the future culture of California and America as a whole. Will our culture encourage gay marriage or discourage it? That's the only question here.

2. It won't affect us at all except to determine the culture of our nation. Our children will take look to our laws for moral direction and they will find none. Which leads us to the next point.

3. Neither science nor common sense refutes that being gay is a choice. Though biology may be a factor, the environment also plays a large factor. The truth is, a lot of people choose to be homosexual. I'm sure that a lot of people do not, but because its actually becoming "cool" to be gay, I personally know two coworkers who have experimented with homosexual lifestyle and one who has actually become gay even though he admits to not being born that way. He wants to be gay and therefore has become gay. So while the majority of gay people may not choose to be gay, there are some people who do choose the gay lifestyle. The more and more acceptable or cool the gay lifestyle becomes, the more people will choose to be gay. Why do you think homosexuality is much more rampant in prisons? Why do you think homosexuality was rampant in ancient Greek culture? It's because it was part of the culture.

4. Again, its not discrimination. Nobody is being discriminated against. Everyone can marry someone of the opposite sex. Gay activists are basically forcing their definition of "discrimination" on others and removing their tax exempt status because of it.

In the end, that's what it comes down to. You either believe gay marriage is a good thing or you believe it's a bad thing. There's no, you choose what you want and I choose what I want. Because we're all a part of the same culture and our children will all be affected by this culture, we have to choose our side. Do you believe gay marriage is a good thing or a bad thing? Vote accordingly.
